An unbelievable tragedy involving a Precinct 4 deputy constable took place on Richmond Ave in Houston Tuesday (Sept 3).
According to reports, Deputy Maher Husseini was at the intersection near the Westpark Tollway when he was struck by gunfire multiple times. Husseini, who has been with the department since 2001, was on his way to work when the shooting took place. He did not survive his injuries.
From KHOU11:

Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman said Husseini joined his department in 2021.  “I just promoted him last week. He was just promoted. I met his wife for the first time, great people,” Herman said at a news conference. He said Husseini’s wife was out of town and they sent someone to Bush Intercontinental Airport to meet her when she arrived and break the news. Herman said it was Chief Diaz who called him to let him know about the shooting.

Houston Police Chief Noe Diaz said the gunman exited his vehicle and fired directly at Husseini several times. The suspect is described as an Asian/Middle Eastern man between 35 and 40 years old. He is around 5 feet 9 inches tall, with dark/balding hair and weighs about 200 pounds.
