Donald Trump Says He Won’t Run Again in 2028

In a recent interview, former President Donald Trump announced that if he does not win the 2024 presidential election, he will not run again in 2028. He recently sat down with “Full Measure” host Sharyl Attkisson  for an interview and Trump made it clear: “No, I don’t. I think … that will be it. I don’t see that at all,” adding, “Hopefully, we’re gonna be successful.”

This statement signals that 2024 may be Trump’s final shot at the presidency.  After two attempted assassination attempts, this seems like the best decision to make. At 78 years old, Trump is the oldest presidential candidate in U.S. history, surpassing current President Joe Biden, who is 81. If Trump were to run again in 2028, he would be 82, an age that many political analysts believe could raise concerns among voters, similar to the ones Biden currently faces.

Trump’s decision not to run in 2028 if he loses raises questions about his political future and the direction of the Republican Party. While Trump has been a dominant force in GOP politics since his 2016 victory, his influence may start to wane if he is unsuccessful in reclaiming the White House in 2024.

With Trump’s potential exit from future races, the focus may shift to other prominent Republican figures, leaving the 2024 election as his last significant political battleground. Given the tight race in key states like Virginia, where Harris and Trump are virtually neck and neck, this upcoming election could be the most pivotal in shaping the future of both major political parties.
