Actress Michelle Trachtenberg, known for her roles in “Harriet the Spy,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” and “Gossip Girl,” has passed away at the age of 39, New York Post reports.
Trachtenberg was found around 8 a.m. Wednesday at One Columbus Place, a luxury apartment complex in New York.
Her death is not being investigated as suspicious, and the cause of death is currently unknown, according to the Post.
Last year, Trachtenberg sparked concerns about her health after sharing photos in which she appeared noticeably different.
In response, the TV star defended her appearance, addressing critics by saying, “Explain to me how I look sick.” She added, “Did you lose a calendar and not realize I’m not 14? I’m 38. How sad for you to leave such a comment.“
However, many fans clarified that their comments were not meant as criticism but rather concern, noting that her hair appeared thinner and her eyes had a yellow tint.
The former child star’s most recent social media post was a throwback photo she shared on Instagram last week.
