Joel Embiid on James Harden: "James is Not Talking to Me"

When players get traded to another team, relationships are usually maintained during the players. This isn’t the case in Philly, as Joel Embiid has revealed that of former teammate of his.

James Harden, former 76er, is now a member of the Los Angeles Clippers. After leaving Philadelphia, Embiid claims that him and Harden no longer speak.

“No one knows this, but even James [Harden] is not talking to me.” Embiid said via ESPN. “That’s the part I don’t like about being ‘that guy,’ because it puts you in the middle of those situations. “

Embiid attributes the severance of his relationship with Harden to the assumption that Harden thinks that Embiid is the reason Harden is not a Sixer anymore. Embiid said that he has been suffering since their communication has fallen off.

“Because if you ask James, he probably believes I had something to do with him not being here. And I’m just like, ‘I won the scoring title. You won the assists title. We had a pick-and-roll that was unstoppable.’ It hurts when you feel like you haven’t done anything wrong. When you think you have a relationship like that with somebody … you lose a lot.”

Harden as yet to make a remark regarding Embiid’s comments.
