KenTheMan Drops By BET Media House: Talks New Music, Real Friends, and Dodging Drama

Rising rap sensation KenTheMan stopped by the Morning Hustle Show at the 2024 BET Awards, offering an entertaining glimpse into her creative process and personal philosophy. The buzzworthy artist dished on her latest track “BDK,” produced by a legendary hip-hop figure, and shared insights into her songwriting journey.

KenTheMan revealed that she stays away from gossip blogs to avoid unnecessary rap beef, emphasizing the importance of genuine friendships in her life. Despite the efforts of internet trolls and fans who try to stir up drama, she insists she’s not a troublemaker. “That’s just not my vibe,” she said with a smile.

For those still catching up with this rising star, KenTheMan is making waves in the music world. She was selected for XXL magazine’s Annual Freshman Class list in 2022, the same year her single “Not My Nigga” went viral on TikTok. The following year, she signed with Roc Nation, cementing her status in the industry. Despite what her stage name might suggest, KenTheMan is female, and she’s here to shake things up.

Before her music career took off, KenTheMan worked various jobs, including as a waitress and a DoorDash delivery driver. It was during these hustling days that she penned “He Be Like,” her first big hit. In 2021, she released the acclaimed project “What’s My Name,” which Rolling Stone ranked as the 16th best hip-hop album of the year. Her success continued with the release of “Not My Nigga” on October 14, 2022.
