Nick Cannon is no stranger to headlines, whether it’s his high-profile career or his large family. In a candid interview, the entertainer shared deep insights into his personal life, his long-running show “Wild ‘N Out”, and how he’s learned to balance it all, from business to fatherhood.

Cannon’s “Wild ‘N Out” is now 20 years strong, with no signs of slowing down. He’s currently embarking on a multi-city tour across the U.S. with plans to expand globally. “We’ve got 15 dates in the States, and then we’re heading to Africa,” Cannon says, revealing his big vision for the brand. “I want to start “Wild ‘N Out Africa”—I’ve seen how much people love the show out there. We’re going to tour and cast at the same time.”
For Cannon, bringing *Wild ‘N Out* to Africa feels like a rite of passage. “There’s so much more to the world than just our blocks and streets,” he says. With over two decades of success under his belt, Cannon continues to push boundaries, sharing that even when MTV didn’t fully understand the concept at first, he was determined. “I put up my own money. If they had gotten it right away, I probably wouldn’t own it. When you own something, they can’t take it from you.”
Cannon also touched on the topic of being “canceled” at one point and making a powerful comeback. “I was the first person to get canceled and brought back,” he laughs. During that time, there were rumors that DC Young Fly might take over the brand. Cannon says, “I wouldn’t have been mad if he did—he’s family. But I came back stronger.”
Beyond his TV career, Cannon is known for his large family—12 children and counting. But how does he balance being a father of so many kids while juggling his many commitments?
Cannon insists it’s all about priorities. “I work in the morning doing my radio show, then it’s kids all day,” he says. His approach to fatherhood is individualized: “They want their own experiences with me, so it’s not about having all my kids in one place at one time. It’s about each of them getting the most of me.”
Despite the staggering number of children, Cannon is clear that he’s fully committed to each of them, emotionally and financially. “I’m not caught up in the government child support system because all my money goes towards my kids. I’mma take care of all y’all; we’re all going to be alright. This is y’all’s money.”
Cannon’s relationships with his children’s mothers are also rooted in respect and cooperation. “We put the children first, and we all have that mindset,” he says, emphasizing the importance of unity for the sake of the kids.
When it comes to addressing his critics, Cannon holds nothing back. He even mentioned his infamous diss track aimed at Eminem, saying it was purposeful after the rapper first dissed his then-wife, Mariah Carey. “I went to Detroit looking for him. He started it, so I responded.”
But despite the drama, Cannon is clear about one thing—he’s an open book. “I’ve got nothing to hide. I’ve got some toxic in me, and I’m not perfect. I take my Ls; I don’t put on a persona.”
At the heart of it all, Nick Cannon is focused on showing the world who he really is—a dedicated father, a savvy businessman, and a man who’s still learning, growing, and evolving every day.
