After a year of courtroom theatrics and nearly four days of jury deliberations, the YSL RICO trial has hit a pivotal moment: the final two defendants, Deamonte Kendrick (better known as Yak Gotti) and Shannon Stillwell, are heading home—or at least, close to it.

The jury cleared Kendrick of all charges, handing him a full acquittal. As for Stillwell, he caught a minor snag—a guilty verdict for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. But plot twist: Stillwell was sentenced and effectively freed on the spot, thanks to time served. Having already spent over a decade behind bars, his 10-year sentence, with only two years required in jail, puts him back on the streets with probation for the remainder.

While Kendrick celebrates a clean slate and Stillwell swaps prison bars for probation rules, the drama isn’t quite over yet. Eleven more defendants in the YSL RICO case are still in legal limbo, with a status hearing slated for later today.

Stay tuned—because if this case has taught us anything, it’s that anything can happen in the wild, wild world of Atlanta’s hip-hop legal saga.
