Anthony Mackie is stepping into one of the biggest roles of his career as the new Captain America in Captain America: Brave New World. In an exclusive interview with The Morning Hustle, Mackie shared how much this role means to him, calling it his personal Oscar. He emphasized that he doesn’t need an Academy Award because playing Captain America is already the highest honor in his career.
As a Black man taking on such an iconic Marvel role, Mackie hopes to inspire the Black community and push representation forward. He also revealed his longtime dream of working with legendary filmmaker Spike Lee, hinting that a collaboration could be on the horizon.
However, despite his superhero status, Mackie remains firm on his no-photo policy with fans. He explained that while he appreciates the support, he prefers genuine interactions over quick snapshots.
With Captain America: Brave New World set to make waves in the MCU, Mackie is embracing his moment—and making it clear that he’s here to stay.
