Prosecutors believe the defense team is stretching out Cassie’s time on the stand. They claim this is part of a strategy to help Sean “Diddy” Combs review court transcripts over the weekend.

The prosecution requested that her cross-examination be forced to end by Friday. They argued that the defense has already used more time questioning Cassie than the government did during its direct examination.
Prosecution Slams Defense Over Tactics in Diddy Case
The prosecution outlined several key complaints against the defense.
First, they said the defense asked Cassie about topics from civil lawsuits unrelated to the current criminal case. This includes questions about alleged drug use at private parties.
Second, they criticized how the defense made Cassie read long chains of text messages aloud in court. These texts contained sexually explicit material or emotional expressions. The prosecution viewed this tactic as a delay and unnecessary.
Third, the prosecution accused the defense of sandbagging. They claimed the defense dumped over 400 exhibits on them right before cross-examination began. This last-minute delivery made it difficult for prosecutors to respond effectively.
The judge has not ruled yet on whether Cassie’s cross-examination will be cut short. But the prosecution is making its stance clear: let her finish testifying now, or risk a mistrial.
