In you played yourself news, NASCAR racer Kyle Larson got caught dropping the n-word on a live video game stream. AJ Perez on Twitter screen recorded and released the video with the caption “Well, @kylelarson apparently dropping the n-bomb could be the biggest story in sports this weekend.”
After the tweet started circulating, Kyle took to his Instagram page to offer up an “apology”. He said he was not raised that way, said it was a “mistake” and that he’s sorry for his friends, family, race car community, and then the “black community” for how sorry he is. Some people under his comments that know him came to his defense, but the majority of comments dragged him all the way around the racing bend. “You’re just sorry you got caught” said one user, “Naw you cancelled” said another. Other users said “As a black woman I didn’t take offense because he didn’t mean it in a hateful way.”
Now maybe he is sorry, but from the sounds of the original video, he sounds a little too comfortable with this type of language. For him to use that word to try and see if someone can hear him, his beyond fathom. Peep his apology below.
