Lepley’s latest project, “Buried Alive”, is currently airing on Lifetime. The film deals with serious themes like domestic violence and mental health, and Lepley’s role is one that allowed him to stretch beyond the types of characters he’s typically known for. His co-star, Eva Marcille, was a revelation for Lepley. “It was my first time working with her, and I was pleasantly surprised by her ability to go toe to toe with me in telling such an important story,” he shared.

This project holds particular significance for Lepley, who is careful about the roles he takes on. He explained, “Playing a role that is different than I usually do was a conscious choice. I don’t want to get typecast.” He approaches each role with a strong sense of authenticity, noting, “If I don’t believe it, no one else will. So I have to believe in my roles.”

Lepley has developed a thoughtful approach to his craft, one that’s grounded in understanding the motivations behind each character. He described his process as, “What is my objective in this scene? What’s standing in the way?” By focusing on these elements, Lepley ensures that his performances remain authentic and relatable.

However, there are roles that resonate deeply with him, especially when it comes to the injustices some characters face. Reflecting on the topic of stalking, he expressed frustration, saying, “It’s messed up that you need to be physically hurt in order to get help from the police.” This insight into the legal and emotional challenges some victims face adds depth to the types of stories Lepley wants to tell on screen.

Aside from acting, Lepley has also ventured into business. He started his journey in Los Angeles as a trainer before transitioning to acting. Recently, he’s branched out into the restaurant industry, opening a spot in Tampa, Florida. He emphasized the importance of financial security, noting that the pandemic made him realize the need to diversify his income streams. “I’ve got a lot of mouths to feed, and the pandemic taught me to make sure I have some ‘mailbox money’ coming in,” Lepley explained. While he’s content with his Tampa location, he has his sights set on future expansions, with Atlanta being a potential next step.

When it comes to his personal life, Lepley values privacy. Currently in a public relationship with Miracle Watts, he acknowledges the challenge of balancing fame with personal moments. “You have to keep a piece of your personal life private,” he said, stressing the importance of not sharing everything with the public.

Navigating family life, Lepley also spoke about the delicate task of co-parenting with two different partners. “I try to roll with the punches and do the best I can when dealing with differences of opinion, and having some grace is important,” he said. Despite the complexities, Lepley remains focused on maintaining peace for the sake of his children.

One thing that stands out about Tyler Lepley is how grounded he remains, despite his growing success. He emphasized the importance of not losing oneself in a role, stating, “You have to ground yourself while portraying characters so you don’t lose yourself.” This balance between professional and personal life is something he’s worked hard to maintain, especially as he navigates an industry that often blurs the lines between the two.

Lepley’s grounded perspective extends to his view on past relationships. When asked about his child’s mother dating music mogul Diddy in the past, he was unfazed. “We all have exes,” he said, displaying a mature outlook on moving forward.

Fans of Lepley’s work won’t have to wait long for his next appearance. He teased that “P-Valley”, the hit show he stars in, is finishing up production and will be returning to screens soon. With a diverse set of projects under his belt, Lepley continues to prove that he’s an actor to watch, unafraid to push boundaries both on and off the screen.
