The hits keep coming for the Browns fans.
Myles Garrett, the Cleveland Browns reigning Defensive Player Of The Year, has officially requested a trade.
In a statement originally shared by the NFL Network’s NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Garret said:
“As a kid dreaming of the NFL, all I focused on was the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl- and that goal fuels me today more than ever. My love for the community of Northeast Ohio and the incredible fanbase of the Cleveland Browns has made this one of the toughest decisions of my life. These past eight years have shaped me into the man that I am today.
While I’ve loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won’t allow me to be complacent. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl.
With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland.”

The Browns have not yet commented on Garrett’s trade request.
Early opinions suggest Garrett’s trade to be a result of him not being on board with Cleveland’s plan for quarterback. The Browns traded several first-round picks, and $230M in guaranteed money, to now-defunct QB Deshaun Watson.
Garrett was drafted by Cleveland No. 1 overall in 2017. He won Defensive Player Of The Year in 2024.
Since being drafted, Garrett’s overall win-loss record with the Browns is just 53-78.
With the NFL Draft just a couple of months away this move puts pressure on Browns brass to nail their picks. Now, a first-round QB may be out of the question.
