Lizzo Presses Yung Miami Over Weight Loss Remarks
Shannon Sharpe has found himself in the headlines again—and of course it’s for for stirring up another conversation about women’s bodies. During her appearance on Club Shay Shay, Young Miami spoke about Lizzo’s recent transformation, calling out the impossible standards women face when it comes to their weight. But things took a turn when Lizzo herself decided to address the conversation directly.
Young Miami, while discussing the backlash Lizzo has received, pointed out the hypocrisy in public opinion. “Everybody was like, ‘Oh my God, she’s so fat,’” she said. “She looks so good now. Now it’s like, ‘Oh my God, ew.’… Pick a side. What do you want?”
Lizzo, clearly catching wind of the “ew” remark, wasn’t about to let anything get lost in translation. The Special singer called Miami live on Twitch to get some clarity. “I thought you were saying I was too little,” Lizzo said.
Yung Miami quickly clarified, saying her comments weren’t about Lizzo personally but rather about how society constantly critiques women’s bodies. “You can’t make [everybody] happy,” she explained. “Before you lost the weight, people were saying you should lose weight. Then when you do, they say you looked better before.”
In the end, Lizzo laughed it off, and the moment remained lighthearted, but it once again sparked a bigger conversation. Why are women constantly scrutinized and pitted against each other over their appearances? And why does Shannon Sharpe always seem to find himself in the middle of these conversations—often asking female guests about surgery and body transformations, while rarely having similar discussions with men?
Miami’s Club Shay Shay interview also made waves for her take on relationships, where she casually admitted that she’s okay with a little cheating. “All men cheat,” she said. “I might give him like four times.”
Some fans say Lizzo took things too far by confronting Yung Miami over comments that clearly weren’t meant to be messy, questioning if she was just looking for a moment. One thing most of the internet agrees on? Shannon Sharpe needs to stay out of women’s business when it comes to their bodies!
