Rapper and reality TV star Amy Luciani has officially filed for divorce from former NBA player Dwight Howard, marking the end of their whirlwind romance just six months after tying the knot.

Court documents obtained by TMZ Sports reveal that Luciani, real name Amber Rose Howard, filed for divorce on July 1 at a Georgia courthouse, citing that the marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no prospects for reconciliation.” The rapper has requested an equitable division of marital assets and property and is seeking alimony.

In an exclusive statement to The Shade Room, Luciani confirmed the separation, expressing her surprise at how the news became public. “Although it is true, I am not sure how it got out to the public,” she said. “Still wrapping my head around a lot. Although I know it won’t happen, I hope the public can give us grace and privacy right now.”

The couple’s relationship became public in December 2024 when they announced their engagement on Instagram. Luciani shared her excitement in a now-deleted post, writing, “Met you and ain’t stop smiling since Superman.” The two officially married on January 11, 2025, and were often seen flaunting their love on social media and at public events.

However, cracks in their relationship began to surface earlier this year. During a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, Howard confirmed their marriage but emphasized his desire to keep his personal life private. “There’s always some rumors, but I just keep that side of my life private so everybody ain’t got nothing to say,” he said.

Luciani, known for her appearances on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta and her 2023 album Amy’s World, has been candid about her journey in the entertainment industry. Meanwhile, Howard, 39, is currently playing in the BIG3 League after an 18-season NBA career.

The couple’s relationship was not without its challenges. In December 2024, they faced public drama involving Howard’s ex-girlfriend, Royce Reed. Despite the controversies, the pair appeared united, even hinting at releasing a diss track aimed at Reed earlier this year.
