Draymond Green Fined $50K, Boston Keeps Playoff Hopes Alive vs. Knicks

The NBA playoffs are heating up, and the Golden State Warriors are facing some serious challenges. In Game 3 of their series against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Warriors suffered a 121–110 loss, leaving them trailing 3–1 in the series. Adding to their woes, star player Stephen Curry has been sidelined due to a hamstring injury sustained earlier in the series. But it’s not just the Warriors’ performance on the court that’s causing drama—Draymond Green’s actions off the court have sparked controversy.
After fouling out late in Game 3, Green was seen on the ESPN broadcast referencing the game’s 5.5-point betting spread, saying, “5.5. I know what y’all doing,” while speaking to his teammates. This comment, which seemed to question the integrity of game officials, led to a $50,000 fine from the NBA. Green’s history of disciplinary issues is well-documented. Earlier this season, he was suspended for five games after placing Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a headlock during an on-court altercation. The NBA cited Green’s “history of unsportsmanlike acts” when determining the suspension length.
Despite these challenges, the Warriors are determined to stay competitive. Head coach Steve Kerr has emphasized the importance of focus and discipline as the team seeks to overcome the Timberwolves and keep their playoff hopes alive. All eyes will be on Green and the Warriors in their next game, scheduled for tomorrow night. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see if Golden State can extend the series and mount a comeback.
Meanwhile, in the East, the Boston Celtics are refusing to go down quietly. With their season on the line, they dominated the New York Knicks 127–102 to force a Game 6. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown finally looked locked in, and the team played with the kind of urgency fans have been begging to see all season. The Knicks, on the other hand, appeared flat—possibly worn down by injuries and the intense playoff pressure. With Game 6 approaching, it’s now or never for New York, and the next game promises to be another fiery battle.
The NBA playoffs are far from over, and both teams will be looking to make a statement in their respective series. Will the Knicks finally break their “curse.”
